On July 28^th, 2011, the Ag-Nav Inc. team departed on a 10-day visit to the Philippines. 

The first leg of the journey took them to visit one of the largest producers of fruit worldwide.  Del Monte, located in Cagayan de Oro, is a major producer of pineapples.  Pineapples in this region are sprayed with ground machinery with application rates of up to 2000 LPM.  The Ag-Nav team spent several days with Del Monte helping to do trial runs with our system and setting up meetings with the Del Monte personnel to provide training.  Del Monte is using top GPS technology with automatic flow control systems to increase their yields.  Ag-Nav technology will help them to achieve their goals. 

The Ag-Nav Guia Terra is a GPS Precision Navigation system that combines over 25 years of GPS experience, user-friendly software and proven performance.  The software was designed to resemble current mobile phones, meaning the end product is intuitive, which allows the user to save valuable time during a busy season. 

The Terra system provides the user with many unique features that make GPS technology user-friendly and efficient.  The Terra’s 8.4” touch screen display is ideal for either day or night operations due to its 1200 nit brightness.  Its built-in USB port, positioned on the side panel of the system, allows the user to transfer data from the Guia Terra to a laptop, desktop computer or vice versa.  Using the NavViewW software, the user can pre-plan details for the next operation at any location and then simply plug in the USB stick to the Terra.  The Terra’s built-in GPS receiver has a single and dual band option capable of receiving L-Band OmniStar, CDGPS, SBAS, GLONASS and RTK signals.  This wide array of signals gives the user accuracy from sub-metre to sub-centimetre, depending on the type of application needed on any given day.  When used with Auto Steer and RTK technology, the Terra allows the user to work longer on the field without having to battle driver fatigue.  The Guia Terra system is also compatible with added technologies such as automatic steering, automatic boom control, automatic flow control, RTK technology and Variable Rate Application software.  NavViewW software allows the user to review your operations and create detailed reports which will come in handy when analyzing data at the end of the year.

After leaving Del Monte, the Ag-Nav team spent 5 days in Davao meeting with existing customers.  The team provided technical assistance and training to customers increasing their ability to trouble-shoot and get the most out of their systems.

Ag-Nav’s product TrackerNav is currently in use by a truck transporter in the Philippines.  This truck company transports bananas from the fields to the shipyards.  TrackerNav is a real-time navigation software package, which will allow the user to watch his/her vehicle, coordinate spraying accuracy (if applicable) and add vehicle security.

The easy interfacing allows computer users of many skill levels to easily run the program and begin watching their vehicle on-route to their destination.  All incoming data such as Latitude, Longitude, GPS Time and GPS Altitude are accessible from within the program allowing the user to easily track the vehicle.  All incoming data can be recorded and saved for future playback.  Playback can be viewed in full motion or single-steps in the playback editor.
