Ag-Nav Travels to Mexico, Costa Rica and Guatemala

During the last week of October and the first week of November, the Ag-Nav team travelled to Mexico, Guatemala, and Costa Rica to attend meetings with different associations and to visit with several of our customers.

Mexico

The first leg of the journey took the Ag-Nav representatives to Mexico to meet with the pilot association in Obregon, Sinaloa.  During this meeting Ag-Nav delivered information about GPS technology and how it improves our customer’s gains.  Real-time trials were conducted followed by data analysis of the trials.  Proper use of GPS technology results in precise field applications, more profits and less pilot stress.

Mexico Training

With all meetings concluded, Ag-Nav next visited a banana plantation in Costa Rica.  This banana plantation used both fixed wing aircraft and helicopters as equipment for application.  While Ag-Nav Inc. has been present in Costa Rica for over 10 years, we remain a dynamic company, continuously striving to improve our software for aerial applications.  When an Ag-Nav navigation console is purchased, our customers can expect to receive FREE software updates for the life of their unit.

While visiting with a pineapple farm that uses Ag-Nav ground navigation technology (Ag-Nav Terra) systems, Ag-Nav reps taught our clients the ease of working with our Guia Terra system.  We were then treated to a taste of a fresh pineapple that came direct from the field to the table, probably the best and sweetest pineapple we’ve ever tried.

Our final stop on our tour took us to Guatemala.  Ag-Nav has been present in Guatemala for almost 16 years.  Starting with the USDA on control of the Mediterranean Fly (Ceratitis capitata Wied), Ag-Nav products have been used in the eradication of the bug throughout Central America.  While in Guatemala, the Ag-Nav team visited helicopter operators that use our systems for their applications on banana, rice, sugarcane and other products.  Before leaving for Canada, we delivered a full training session and conducted a real-time trial in a sugarcane field.
